Two Employees Serve on Panel for Creighton Business Symposium

This year marked the 14th year that Creighton University's Heider College of Business hosted a Business Symposium. This year's theme was "Collaboration: The Fast Track to Innovation" and featured over 50 speakers, two of which were employees from TS Banking Group; Erin Johnson and Sean Gill.

The mission of the Symposium is to bring the Creighton and Omaha communities together to share experience and offer insight between students and community members.

Sean Gill, a portfolio manager with TS Prosperity Group, spoke in a session titled "The Future of Investing." The session explored the changing environment of investments. Students learned about the risks facing active management and the outlook for how investing will take place in the future.

"As an alumnus of Creighton who attended the Business Symposium as a student, it was a privilege to be able to once again take part in the largest student-run business organization in the country, but this time as a panelist," shared Sean. "This event was particularly special for me as I was able to share it with my father, who was on the Healthcare Exploration panel at the Symposium, and also with my brother who was a co-coordinator of this year’s event. It was incredibly rewarding to share what I have learned so far in my role with TSPG with current students who are aspiring to enter into this field as well as to hear from other professionals who are experts in their respective fields."

Erin Johnson, a recruiter for TS Banking Group, spoke in a session titled "Building Momentum: How to lead and how to follow." This session examined organizational behavior strategies that new graduates could use to lead efficiently within large corporations, entrepreneurship ventures, and non-profit organizations. They also detailed optimal employee-manager interactions and how to best contribute to a productive company culture.

"The Business Symposium was a well-planned event and a wonderful opportunity and to share with some of the students the experiences that I have faced in my career path," said Erin. "It was interesting to hear from other panelists on their company views pertaining to certain leadership issues. I was able to take away information that will be useful in the future, and I hope the students did as well.
